Congratulations on breaking bread in your new house. That's what makes it a home, instantly.
I used to build houses, all kinds. I remember twenty years ago a large family of recent chinese extraction moved into one very modest home in the shadow of a 350 foot television tower. He spoke no english. He carried in a 100 pound bag of rice. He weighed about 99 pounds himself. I was told it was a sort of ceremony, signifying they would never go hungry, or have bad luck.
